The Wisteria Lodgers was founded November 2012 by 6 Sherlockians who were searching for like-minded individuals: their admiration for Sherlock Holmes. The members meet once a month, on Sunday to discuss, debate and deconstruct the world of Sherlock Holmes and his many incarnations.

The name of the society, The Wisteria Lodgers, comes from the short story “The WIsteria Lodge” which mentions Edmonton Street. Because of this reference to Edmonton, the members deemed it appropriate.

Dear Wisteria Lodgers, greetings from The Bootmakers of Toronto. My name is Thelma Beam and I I am the president of The Bootmakers. I am going to be in the Edmonton area next week and I was just looking to see if there were any Societies operating there. Good to see that there are! I was wondering if I might call you for the purposes of introducing myself and exchanging information.
